Dear Lucille,I better tell you the rest of the story this morning, before I turn to lead. Simply I packed up the gifts you sent and went bt bus to the address Shayne had given me, 149 Hudson Street. Another name stood by the bell. There was a 149 (I), a 149 (II) and a 149 (III). I chose the middle one and rang. Then I pushed the buzzer on the large outside door. Then I phoned from the mobile. Crossing the street and looking up to the second floor level, the apartment looked unoccupied. The window coverings were not complete. I rang her using the mobile again. No answer. I also looked at houses 147 and 141 to see if her name might be on the mailboxes there. Since I received one of those "don't phone" messages just yesterday, only two things can be true: 1) either Shayne is okay or 2) either the message was fake and a deliberate ploy to cause disinterest in her welfare. The Theatre Campagnie had huge oriental looking signs on it but was dark when I was out around 10:00 this morning. The RED CROSS is closed until after January 2. I called the British Embassy. And reported her missing to someone who answered.
