Well Lucille, I am sorry but taking note of the day's events in an email helps a little. The cake did not arrive yet. But I really thank you in spirit, because it is the same as if I had eaten it, that I knew you sent it. So I have gotten the satisfaction of receiving the cake anyway. I have been like stone, trying to make heads and tails of the "silence." While petrified on my bed, Thomas slipped out of the house. I dozed off. Later he reported he had visited the "Melkweg" and had inquired about Shayne. Always previously, whenever a glitch arose in communicating by phone, the employees at the Melkweg would fetch the roster and give the next date Shayne was expected to come in. Several people attempted to do that this time (whenever I was talking with them on the phone), but one person there, apparently in charge, has blocked them doing it, during this period. Thomas said he challenged their policy by saying a roster is usually made up three weeks in advance. But he didn't get the answer to his inquiry. He told them he was her father but it didn't matter. He then said he visited her house again. I suggested that maybe the house was at 194 instead of 149 as numbers are usually turned around between the Dutch and English interpretations of numbers but Thomas said there was no 194 on the street. He had already checked.I know that Shayne doesn't come into the Theatre Compagnie before Jan. 5, as someone told me that today. With all the illusive work Shayne is doing, I wonder how she found time to go to school?
