Dear Lucille,I listened to the cassette and enjoyed it. I always identified with Esau, who was honest and hardworking but was betrayed so ruthlessly by his own flesh-and-blood brother, Jacob. I often think about the stories of the Bible and how they apply to world politics. For instance the story about Solomon, who was trying to decide which woman was really the mother of a small baby, which they were fighting over. And he gave orders for the baby to be cut in two, realizing that the fake mother would not care about the baby's fate. Now, when you look at all the division that has been generated in the world, the invasions into Africa and all over the world, the decline of wealth and prosperity in parts of the world, you realize, like Solomon, that the true "mother" of earth has not yet appeared, because the leaders today inspire so much hate and warfare and division and catastrophe. They claim themselves to be leaders but the baby world gets divided in two and they don't care. As for the hold on my unemployable money, I have since learned from the "deurwaarder" that the issues evolve around a technicality. His office claims that when he evicted me, I was not registered at the address or anywhere, so he could apply his assault on my possessions again. I wrote to his office, explaining and proving that I was registered in the "People's Register" in August 2004 and that because his agency had changed the lock on the house in August, my things were confiscated by his agency and I eventually became unregistered. There is apparently no authority in the country above the agency, so one must rely on their honesty or dishonesty. Thomas on the other hand is working hard to audit all his pension accounts in England for the last forty years, which the "call-center" government tax office has required. A transferral of money he was making over to Shayne has also suddenly been re-routed to his own account, against his directions. (From experience, I know that these types of mistakes are never "mistakes" and that something is brewing). Shayne is off to Madrid for a week and has a bundle of financial problems due to undelivered mail and new enrollment rules that developed after the Chinese bought the University of Amsterdam. So that is my situation at the moment.
